IBM unveils 12 ‘IBM Rational version 7.0 suite’ softwares
Universal IT giant, International Business Machines Corporation (IBM) on Thursday has announced the launch of twelve ‘IBM Rational version 7.0 suite’ softwares that control the software development process by automation.
“Our mission is to give automated tools to organisations for system process and software development. The version 7.0 is much more sophisticated in software delivery management and it provides flexible and integrated test management system across the distributed team,” Steve Robinson, Vice President of IBM WW (Worldwide) sales, Rational Software, Software Group, said.
The twelve new version 7.0 products set includes IBM Rational Build Forge, IBM Rational ClearQuest, IBM Rational ClearCase, IBM Rational ClearQuest and Functional Testing, IBM Rational Portfolio Manager, IBM Rational Purify Plus, IBM Rational Requisite Pro, IBM Rational Robot, IBM Rational Rose, IBM Rational Rose Real-Time, IBM Rational Team Unifying Platform, and IBM Tivoli Provisioning Manager.
The computer technology firm, IBM says that the recently launched IBM Rational Software Development Platform products enable innovation by automating the software testing process and tracking changes made to software code.
IBM had taken over Rational Software in February 2003.
“This results in better collaboration between the development, production and test teams and break down the silos for improved delivery times, lowered costs and greater software quality,” Robinson said.
Moreover, company sources claim that with the Rational Software Development Platform, a new level of business discipline has been injected into the organization wherein even the least technical of executives will be able to exercise appropriate management to ensure meeting of business goals.
As per the IBM calculations, the software application development and lifecycle tools market in India was estimated to be about $61 million last year and IBM leads the market with a 40% market share.
Sunil Kinger, country manager of IBM India Rational Software, says software export from India, which is a home to a prodigious 700,000 software developers, is growing at a CAGR of 27% every year and this is a potential market to be in.
