Mumbai -- Metal stocks are shining brightly. National Aluminum has gained by 1.2% to Rs. 194, the scrip is the biggest gainer among the Metal stocks, Tata Steel is surged by 1.2% to Rs. 509, Hindalco has gained by 0.8% to Rs. 159, Sterlite is up by 1.2% to Rs. 371 and SAIL has added by 0.7% to Rs. 71.
Banking stocks are up by witnessing hefty buying. ICICI Bank has jumped by 4.4% to Rs. 592 after the company received the best internet bank award for second year in row, the scrip is the biggest gainer among the Banking stocks,which has touched an intra-day high of Rs. 591 and a low of Rs. 569 and has recorded volumes of over 19 lakh shares on NSE. PNB has also jumped by 1.4% to Rs. 382, Corp Bank is soaring high by 2% to Rs. 273, OBC has moved up by 1.3% to Rs. 168 and SBIN has added by 1% to Rs. 820.
Satyam Computers has gained by 0.7% to Rs. 743. The scrip has touched an intra-day high of Rs. 745 and a low of Rs. 737 and has recorded volumes of over 2 lakh shares on NSE
Motherson Sumi Systems Ltd has surged higher by 0.6% to Rs. 80 after the Company acquired the business and assets of ASL Systems Ltd from the Administrator through 100% owned UK subsidiary, MSSL GB Ltd.
