Vacations are the only time when the members of the family can spend quality time with each other and give a relaxation to their body and mind.

There are a whole variety of places- both Domestic and Foreign to choose from. Every family wants their trip to be the best. Holidaying means spending money. It's very important that when you go out for a vacation, you balance your budget so that you do not land yourself into a financial mess.

The following points should be taken into consideration while deciding for a vacation.

1. Planning

Always plan your budget and the amount of money to be spent on a vacation. Plan within your financial capabilities. If you want that your finances should not be strained, then set a spending limit. Never spend extravagantly and keep sum percent as extra for unforeseen expenses.

2. Never copy thy neighbour

Never get influenced with what people do and say. If your neighbour went for a foreign trip doesn't necessarily mean that you have to go for one too. Decide the place according to your budget or you will land yourself in to financial misery.

3. View every small detail

View every small detail and do not get carried away by advertisement. Tour packages sound great and so does the advertisement cost, but the packages do not cover all expenses. Expenses like airport taxes, entrances at various places, conveyance, etc have to be met by you later.

4. Gifts for friends and relatives

We love to buy gifts for our near and dear ones but the planning of gifts should be such, that they do not leave your budget upside down. Never purchase impulsively.

5. Inquire about places

Inquire about the various places of tourist interest of the place where you are going from your friends and relatives who have already been there. Internet is the best place to gather information about the place, weather, etc. By doing so, you save a lot of time and money.

6. Never use credit cards

One always tends to exceed the limits set by using credit cards. Traveler's cheque or cash are better options.

If you want to make your holiday a memorable experience, then a little bit of care and thought is required. If you don't want to turn your holiday into a nightmare, then don't be extravagant. Always follow the motto: Limited spending, unlimited fun.
