Nadeem Kashmiri; just a pawn in the whole syndicateby MT Bureau - June 29, 2006 - 0 comments
The HSBC bank employee, Nadeem Kashmiri, has been arrested for his involvement in stealing confidential documents of Britain customers and using them to steal thousands of pounds. He was traced down because of the three mobile phones he was using which were still in operation. Nadeem Kashmiri was arrested last night at Netaji Circle on the basis of a complaint by HSBC Electronic Data Processing India Ltd, the banks BPO arm. Kashmiri had joined HSBC on December 12 last year and had produced forged qualification documents. He was produced before a local court where he was remanded to police custody till july 4. However, the Deputy Inspector General of Police, Sanjay Vir Singh of the COD, reported that Kashmiri is just a pawn in the whole syndicate. The COD is still trying to find out if Kashmiri had links with the underworld or any military outfit. Kashmiri’s friends and family based in Bangalore have also been traced down and the COD has already reached Hyderabad. They are being helped and assisted by HSBC technical team The fraud was of 2,33,000 pounds and was committed between March 14 and April 3. On April 14, Kashmiri was caught and suspended as the HSBC had plugged his ID and tracked down his fraud. Singh also added that the whole fraud racket and the people behind Kashmiri, who is just a pawn, will soon be traced down arrested. |
