The heads of Toyota and General Motoes have agreed in principle to strengthen their partnership in developing environmentally friendly vehicles.

Local papers have reported the agreement to have happened yesterday to step up the cooperation leading to the development of next generation power source for cars.

A partnership would allow the world's two biggest automakers to share the cost of developing fuel cell-powered cars -- pollution-free vehicles that are powered by hydrogen.
