COL BKB: Missouri 83, Oregon 80
Eugene, Ore. -- Marcus Denmon helped No. 8 Missouri open a big lead Thursday and the Tigers fought off a second-half rally to defeat Oregon 83-80.
Missouri (6-1), coming off its only loss of the season, against 14th-ranked Georgetown, owned a 20-point halftime advantage. The Tigers appeared to have safely survived the Oregon comeback when Michael Dixon made two free throws with 14 seconds to give Missouri an 82-77 cushion.
Jonathan Loyd, however, hit a 3-pointer for the Ducks with 8 seconds remaining. Missouri's Matt Pressey was fouled with 5 seconds to go and he made the first of two from the line. He missed the second try, giving Oregon a chance to force overtime.
Loyd then missed a 3-point attempt at the buzzer.
Denmon finished with 19 points, making 5-of-7 from the field, and Ricardo Ratliffe had 13 for the Tigers.
Oregon (4-3) got 19 points from E.J. Singler. The Ducks scored 56 points in the second half after managing only 24 in the opening period.
