NHL: St. Louis 2, San Jose 0
St. Louis-- Jaroslav Halak recorded his third shutout in four starts Thursday, making 25 saves in lifting the St. Louis Blues to a 2-0 win over San Jose.
The Blues won their fifth straight and have captured at least a point in all but one of their 10 games this season. They have won 12 consecutive home contests dating back to last season, a franchise record.
Halak is in his first season with St. Louis after spending four years with Montreal. He has 12 shutouts in his career.
The St. Louis goals came from Matt D'Agostini with 2:19 to go in the first period and David Perron with 5:48 remaining in the second. They were the fifth goals of the season for both.
Perron's goal came 10 minutes after he received a hit to the head by San Jose center Joe Thornton, who received a game misconduct for the infraction.
San Jose has been shut out three straight times on the road. Antti Niemi stopped 27 shots in the loss.
