Canada's gross domestic product rebounds

Ottawa -- The gross domestic product in Canada rebounded in August from a 0.1 percent decline in July to a gain of 0.3 percent, Statistics Canada said Friday.

Gains were widespread with oil and gas extraction, wholesale trade and manufacturing leading the upswing. Finance and insurance businesses also made a strong showing and gains were made in construction and retail. Utilities and forestry showed declines.

By the numbers, mining and oil and gas extraction rose 0.5 percent; wholesale trades rose 1.1 percent and manufacturing rose 0.5 percent. Output from financial firms rose 0.6 percent, while construction rose 0.4 percent.

Retail climbed only slightly, up 0.1 percent.

well this GDP growth will definitely increase, as Canada is among top level countries.
