COL BKB: Texas 95, Texas Tech 83

Austin, Texas -- A season-best 28 points from Damion James Wednesday brought No. 6 Texas from behind to a 95-83 victory over Texas Tech.

After moving to the No. 1 spot in the national rankings, Texas lost two straight road games to Kansas State and Connecticut. The Longhorns fell behind by eight late in the first half against the Red Raiders but reduced their deficit to three at the break and finally began to pull away over the closing 10 minutes.

James added 13 rebounds while Justin Mason had 18 points for Texas (18-2, 4-1 Big 12).

John Roberson had a season-high 27 points for Texas Tech (14-6, 2-4).

Coach Rick Barnes improved to 99-11 in his career at Texas against in-state teams. The Longhorns are 73-5 at home over the last five seasons.
