NBA: Chicago 115, Phoenix 104

Phoenix -- Derrick Rose scored 32 points Friday and the Chicago Bulls turned in a tremendous defensive effort in pulling off a surprise 115-104 win over Phoenix.

The Bulls played the third contest in a season-long, seven-game road trip and they had lost the first two outings of the journey. The Bulls had managed just four road wins all season prior to Friday and the Suns had lost a mere four home games, so Chicago's prospects were not bright.

Nevertheless, the Bulls built a 10-point lead at halftime, held off a Phoenix charge in the third quarter and pulled away down the stretch.

Rose made 15-of-21 shots from the field to come within five of his high total for the season. Luol Deng added 23 and Joakim Noah had 18.

Phoenix shot only 40 percent from the floor. Amare Stoudemire led the way with 23 and Grant Hill had 17.
