NBA: Portland 103, Los Angeles Clippers 99

Portland, Ore. -- Brandon Roy gave Portland a 10-point lead in the fourth quarter Wednesday and the Trail Blazers survived a late scare to defeat the Los Angeles Clippers 103-99.

The victory lifted Portland into a tie with Denver atop the Northwest Division.

Roy scored 25 points and his layup with 3:43 to play gave the Trail Blazers a 101-91 lead. Portland managed only two more points the rest of the game but Los Angeles could not score after Chris Kaman brought the Clippers within four by hitting a hook shot with 43 seconds to play.

Martell Webster had 15 for the Trail Blazers and Jerryd Bayless 14. Portland hit half its shots from the field.

The Clippers got 25 from Kaman and 24 from Eric Gordon, who made 8-of-11 field goal attempts.
