Vancouver -- TV actress Carly Pope and her actor-brother Kris are recovering after being hurt in a carjacking in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canadian authorities say.

The Canadian Broadcasting Corp. reported Wednesday Carly Pope, 29, suffered a broken rib and two cracked vertebrae. Kris Pope, 33, suffered injuries to his ankle, arm and face in the Tuesday incident in which a pedestrian tried to steal their BMW and crashed it into the CBC building on West Georgia Street, the network said.

Vancouver police arrested David Fomradas, 31, of Alberta, who is facing eight charges in the carjacking.

Fomradas and a fourth, unidentified victim also were hurt. Fomradas remains in custody, while the Popes, who are from Vancouver, and the fourth victim were treated and released, the CBC said.

"My daughter was thrown from the car at some point," Dale Pope, the siblings' father, said. "My son, who grabbed on to the door of the car to try and stop this person from kidnapping his sister, was thrown from the vehicle and received quite severe injuries to his ankle, his arm and his face.

"My daughter suffered a broken rib and two cracked vertebrae and some stitches to her face," he said. "We feel very blessed that they're with us because this person could have had a weapon. A lot of people were jeopardized yesterday by this person."

Carly Pope has appeared in a number of TV shows, including "Popular" and "24." Kris Pope also has appeared in TV and movie roles.
