NBA: Portland 107, Denver 96

Portland, Ore. -- Brandon Roy scored 41 points Friday and keyed an eight-point run in the fourth quarter that brought the Portland Trail Blazers a 107-96 win over Denver.

The Trail Blazers won their fourth straight and moved within a game of the Nuggets for the lead in the Northwest Division.

Denver led by as many as seven points in the first half, but the Trail Blazers rallied to within two at the break and the teams engaged in a close battle through the third and part of the fourth period.

With the game tied, however, Roy hit a 3-pointer that put Portland in front with 7:25 to go. LaMarcus Aldridge made a dunk to give the Trail Blazers a 90-85 lead and Roy followed within another 3-pointer.

Portland finished the game on a 22-11 surge.

Steve Blake scored 17 for Portland and Andre Miller had 14.

Denver's Carmelo Anthony, the NBA's leading scorer, had 32.
