Zorn sends Haynesworth home

Ashburn-- Washington Redskins Coach Jim Zorn sent Albert Haynesworth home Friday when the defensive tackle showed up late for a Christmas Day team meeting.

The incident followed Haynesworth's comment this week that the 4-10 Redskins needed leadership. Numerous media reports suggested the remark was aimed at the beleaguered Zorn, who has downplayed it.

"I sent Albert home just for disciplinary reasons," Zorn told reporters following Friday's practice. "I think all that will be kept between Albert and I. He was not belligerent or nasty to me and I was not nasty to him."

Zorn said Haynesworth will play Sunday against the Dallas Cowboys, but he was non-committal on whether Haynesworth would start.

Haynesworth signed a seven-year, $100 million, free agent contract in February.
