Winehouse's once-bright career has been eclipsed in recent years by reports of her outrageous behavior, drug addiction and legal woes.
CNN quoted the Thames Valley police as saying the 26-year-old Grammy Award winner was charged with a public order offense and common assault after she surrendered Wednesday at the police station.
She has been ordered to appear in court Jan. 20, CNN said.
