People.com reported the actor and his spouse appeared in Santa Barbara Superior Court Tuesday after missing several previous court hearings, then being arrested during the weekend on outstanding warrants.
Charged with burglary, defrauding an innkeeper and conspiracy, the couple are expected back in court March 1 for a preliminary hearing, the magazine said on its Web site.
The judge overseeing the case lowered the bail for the Quaids from $40,000 each to $20,000 apiece Tuesday.
The pair reportedly have described the incident as a misunderstanding and said they have since paid their bill in full.
