NBA: Denver 111, Houston 101

Denver -- Carmelo Anthony kept his hot streak going with 38 points Wednesday, helping bring the Denver Nuggets a 111-101 victory over Houston.

Anthony has scored 30 points in five straight games. He made 19-of-20 free throws and the entire Houston team made 18-of-20.

The Nuggets won their third straight game and their seventh in nine. J.R. Smith added 21 for Denver.

Houston got 23 points from Aaron Brooks and 18 from Trevor Ariza.

Tracy McGrady, playing for the second time this season after recovering from knee surgery, played less than 8 minutes and missed the only shot he took.

Denver put the game away with a 7-0 run that gave the Nuggets a 93-80 lead with 7:27 to play.
