NHL: Atlanta 4, Montreal 3 (OT)

Atlanta -- A power-play goal by Ilya Kovalchuk in overtime lifted Atlanta to a 4-3 win over the Montreal Canadiens Saturday.

Kovalchuk, who also scored in regulation, took a pass at the point and fired a shot from the left circle that beat Carey Price at 1:18 of the extra period.

"We found a way to win tonight," Kovalchuk said. "We played simple hockey in the last 40 minutes and got the puck in deep."

Christoph Schubert and Colby Armstrong each had a goal and an assist to help Atlanta end a three-game losing streak. Johan Hedberg made 16 saves in the win.

Andrei Kostitsyn scored two goals and Glen Metropolit added a goal for Montreal. Carey Price had 30 saves.

Atlanta scored all three of its regulation goals in the second period and outshot Montreal 35-19 in the game.

outshot Montreal 35-19

"outshot Montreal 35-19" This seems to be the main part of every game recap with the Canadiens.

Almost last in their division, middle of the road as far as their conference is concerned. Might be a short season this year :(
