NHL: Detroit 3, New York Rangers 1

New York -- Daniel Cleary's goal late in the third period was the winner for Detroit Sunday in a 3-1 victory over the New York Rangers.

Pavel Datsyuk and Kris Draper also scored and Jimmy Howard turned in 28 saves for the Red Wings.

The Rangers took a 1-0 lead in the first period on a goal by Brian Boyle, but Datsyuk tied it in the second and Cleary put the Wings in front with just over 2 minutes remaining in the third. Draper's goal was an empty-netter in the final seconds.

Henrik Lundqvist turned back 28 shots for the Rangers, who have dropped four of their last five games.
