Detroit brothers starring in 'Motor City'

Detroit -- Two brothers in Detroit who own a custom motorcycle shop will star in a new Discovery Channel series, "Motor City Motors," the show's producer says.

"Motor City" producer Thom Beers said James and Dave Kaye of Detroit Bros. Custom Cycles will be at the forefront of the series to debut on the cable TV network in early 2010, The Detroit News reported Saturday.

The series' concept is similar to that of "American Chopper," a show on The Learning Channel about custom motorcycles.

Beers, who has worked on "The Deadliest Catch," said shooting the Discovery
Channel series' 13-episode first season in the brothers' Detroit business has proven to be ideal.

"I'm really happy with how everything is turning out," Beers said. "If I was shooting this in Hollywood, this warehouse would've been new and I'd have to spend $2 million to make it look old ... so, Detroit, thanks for the rust."

The News said each episode of "Motor City" will follow James and Dave work with their staff on creating memorable motorcycle designs.
