MLB: Boston 12, Cleveland 7

Boston -- Jed Lowrie's first career grand slam Sunday led the Boston Red Sox to a 12-7 win over Cleveland and a four-game sweep to end the regular season.

Lowrie's two-out slam, his second homer this season, capped a five-run sixth and put Boston in front 12-6.

J.D. Drew hit two solo homers, Dustin Pedroia had a two-run blast, Jason Bay and Alex Gonzalez had one RBI apiece, while George Kottaras added two hits for the Red Sox, who face the AL West-champion Los Angeles Angels in the Division Series this week.

The winner was reliever Michael Bowden (1-1).

Cleveland's Jhonny Peralta and Andy Marte had two RBI apiece. Luis Valbuena hit a solo homer and Trevor Crowe had two hits for the Indians, who lost six of their final seven games.

The losing pitcher was starter Tomo Ohka (1-5).
