Representative Tammy Starr, along with Norman's unidentified representative, confirmed the couple decided to split after 15 months of marriage, People.com reported Friday.
"Chris and Greg will remain friends and supportive of one another's family," Starr said.
The sports couple got engaged in December 2007 and wed in the Bahamas June 28, 2008. Both former sports stars are 54.
At the time of their marriage, Evert had three sons from a previous marriage, while Norman had two children from an earlier relationship.
"We do things separately and also together," Evert said in September 2008 of the couple's approach to their children. "We love to bring our kids together to do family things."
"We have a mutual respect for each other, and I love taking her a cup of coffee each morning ... . We are compatible and like many of the same things. It is easy to be happy," Norman once said about the couple's relationship.

It is always sad when a relationship fails - and I should know! - and Chris Evert knows this better than most. She has certainly been unlucky in love; even as a huge supporter of the greatest female tennis player ever, I would have to say that, perhaps, her marriage to Andy Mill became rather predictable and accustomed, but maybe they ought to have rode the storm.
I do believe that having an international champion tennis player, and a golfing star who, albeit less successful than his new wife, is well known, together in a marriage is not a recipe for success.
When Chrissie was wed to Andy, at least he had experienced the effects of fame; Laura Andrassey stayed at home, brought up Greg's kids and supported him and his career. It seems to me that he would not be used to a wife who was successful in her own right, wasn't dependant upon him financially and had her own business interests. The failure of the marriage seems indicative of the fact that he was no longer top dog.
Having said all that, only the two of them know the reaons for the split. All the best to both families for the future.
