Davydenko, Verdasco win Malaysia semis

Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia -- No. 1 Nikolay Davydenko and second-seeded Fernando Verdasco won Saturday's semifinals at the Malaysian Open tennis tournament at Kuala Lumpur.

The Russian rallied to down third-seeded Robin Soderling of Sweden 1-6, 7-6 (7-1), 6-2. Verdasco was a 6-4, 7-5 victor against fourth-seeded Fernando Gonzalez of Chile.

"I would love to win this tournament," Davydenko said on the Association of Tennis Professionals Web site. "I have the confidence to win, but every match is different."

Sunday's Verdasco-Davydenko winner earns a $154,000 champion's check.

"(Nikolay) has beaten me more times than I have beaten him, but I hope I can play my best tennis and win the title," Verdasco said.
