Oudin gets second U.S. Open upset

New York -- Unseeded Melanie Oudin stunned former world No. 1 Maria Sharapova 3-6, 6-4, 7-5 Saturday in a third-round women's match at the U.S. Open Tennis Tournament.

The comeback victory by the 17-year-old American marked her second straight shocker at New York's Billie Jean King Tennis Center, coming after a 5-7, 6-4, 6-3 win over fourth-seeded Elena Dementieva Thursday.

"I don't even know what to say right now," Oudin, a Marietta, Ga., native, told the crowd. "I think I got a pretty lucky. (Sharapova) double faulted a couple of times. Thank you for cheering for me."

Elsewhere, 13th-seeded Nadia Petrova of Russia, Oudin's next opponent, beat China's Jie Zheng 6-4, 6-1, and Argentina's Gisela Dulko topped Kazakhstan's Yaroslava Shvedova 6-3, 6-4.
