Halladay (14-8) chased a perfect game into the top of the fifth and a no-hitter into the sixth.

He threw 111 pitches, giving up only Ramiro Pena's one-out, sixth-inning double, with three walks and nine strikeouts.

Halladay did not pitch more than six innings in any of his previous three starts, all losses.

Aaron Hill and Joe Inglett led Toronto with two RBI apiece. Adam Lind had three hits and one RBI.

Marco Scutaro drove in a run and one scored on Pena's first-inning fielding error for the Blue Jays, who snapped a four-game slide.

Losing pitcher Joba Chamberlain (8-5) gave up three runs and six hits in just three innings for the Yankees, whose seven-game winning streak ended.
