Jackson planned to bid on Las Vegas home

Las Vegas -- U.S. pop singer Michael Jackson planned to bid on a 10-acre compound in Las Vegas after his 50-concert London tour ended, his former real estate broker said.

Jackson was going to make an offer on the $16.5 million estate once his tour ended and he had been paid, Las Vegas area Realtor Zar Zanganeh told The Las Vegas Sun.

"He got so excited, the minute we drove through the gates here he got that feeling of Neverland," his California estate, Zanganeh said. "As soon as he stepped out of the car, he said, 'Zar, I love this place. I'm calling it 'Wonderland.'"

Jackson first saw the property when he was living in a mansion elsewhere in Las Vegas in 2007, the Realtor said.

"For some time, he was looking for additional lease properties -- he wasn't sure if he was going to be staying in Vegas long-term -- and when things looked like they were shaping up, we starting looking at homes for him to purchase," Zanganeh said of Jackson's 2007 interest. "That's when we ended up at this home."

Jackson died in Los Angeles June 25.
