The San Diego County District Attorney's Office said a charge could be filed against the former offensive lineman over a Nov. 5 incident in which Louis allegedly assaulted the SDSU starting safety Nick Sandford, the San Diego Union-Tribune said Friday.
Sandford suffered a concussion, a fractured cheekbone and a broken eardrum
in the team meeting room conflict.
University police determined the incident may merit a felony charge against Louis, leading county officials to put the case under review.
Sandford's father, Paul, has been critical of the way former SDSU football coach Chuck Long handled the incident.
"The head coach of a Division I university did absolutely nothing about it, nothing," the elder Sandford said. "I'm still angry about it."
The Union-Tribune said Louis was not suspended for the football team's final three games following the injury and the incident itself was not reported to police until Nov. 20.
