McNair said to have had high blood-alcohol

Nashville, July 20: Steve McNair's blood-alcohol level was twice the legal limit for driving when he was shot by his girlfriend, the Tennessee medical examiner's office said.

Assistant Medical Examiner Dr. Feng Li said McNair's blood-alcohol content was approximately .16 when Sahel Kazemi fatally shot him in Nashville July 4, The (Nashville) Tennessean reported Monday. The report said Kazemi, 20, had a trace of marijuana in her system, but no alcohol.

Agents of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives arrested ex-con Adrian Gilliam Jr. last week for allegedly providing the gun that Kazemi used to kill McNair. Nashville police say McNair, 36, was asleep on his couch when Kazemi shot him multiple times before taking her own life.
