MLB: Cincinnati 7, Cleveland 3

Cleveland, June 28: Homer Bailey escaped a shaky effort Saturday, yielding three runs and three hits in five innings, when the Cincinnati Reds beat Cleveland 7-3.

Bailey (1-0) got his first victory since Sept. 30, 2006, despite walking seven batters and throwing two wild pitches in five innings.

Jay Bruce had two RBI -- one on a second-inning solo homer. Jerry Hairston Jr. had three hits and one RBI.

Joey Votto and Chris Dickerson both had two hits and one RBI, while Laynce Nix had two runs and two hits for the Reds, who had lost five of six.

Grady Sizemore led Cleveland with two hits and one RBI. One run scored on a second-inning double-play groundout by Luis Valbuena, and both Travis Hafner and Jhonny Peralta had two hits for the Indians, who have lost nine of their last 11 games.

Losing pitcher Tomo Ohka (0-2) surrendered six runs and eight hits in four innings.
