COL BB: Arkansas 4, Virginia 3

Omaha, June 18: Andrew Darr doubled home Jarrod McKinney with one out in the 12th inning Wednesday, giving Arkansas a dramatic 4-3 college playoffs win over Virginia.

The Cavaliers were eliminated from the College World Series and Arkansas set up a meeting with unbeaten LSU on Friday. Arkansas needs to defeat LSU twice to reach the best-of-three championship series while LSU needs just one victory over the Razorbacks to advance.

Arkansas appeared headed for elimination before Brett Eibner's two-run, two-out homer in the ninth tied it. The Razorbacks then survived a series of major problems before eventually pulling out the victory.

Virginia stranded the winning run on third base in the ninth, 10th and 11th innings and also stranded what would have been the tying run on third in the 12th.

McKinney reached on a one-out single in the 12th, stole second and came in on the double by Darr.

Steven Proscia doubled to open the bottom of the 12th and, with one out, stole third. But Arkansas' Dallas Keuchel struck out the next two batters to end the game.
