Home Depot patio umbrellas recalled

Washington-- The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced a voluntary recall of Home Depot patio umbrellas due to risk of impact injury.

The pole and umbrella of the Offset Patio Umbrellas could tip over if the sleeves are not removed before closing, the commission said in a statement.

About 60 of the patio umbrellas were imported from China by Home Depot of Atlanta, Ga. They were sold nationwide from January through February for about $250.

The 11 foot umbrellas are beige and hang from a brown offset pole. The base is a brown cross about 18 inches long, the commission said.

Consumers are advised to stop using the umbrellas and return them to the retailer for a full refund.

Consumers can call 866-403-5504 for information.
