Marlon Byrd added a pair of RBIs for the Rangers, who won for the ninth time in their past 10 home games.
Kevin Millwood went 5 2/3 innings before giving way to Jason Jennings (2-1), who picked up the win.
Alfredo Aceves (3-1) took the loss in relief of Joba Chamberlain, who gave up three runs on four hits in four innings. New York stranded 12 runners and hit into three double plays.
Texas built a 3-0 lead with a pair of runs in the first on Byrd's RBI single and then another in the fourth on Davis's first homer of the game.
New York picked up its first run in the fifth on Mark Teixeira's 14th home run of the year. The Yankees tied the game in the sixth on an RBI double by Hideki Matsui and an RBI single by Francisco Cervelli.
Jarrod Saltalamacchia smacked the go-ahead RBI single in the sixth inning. Texas added two more in the seventh and closed out the scoring an inning later in the wee hours with Davis's second solo shot of the night.

The Yankees are another
The Yankees are another team that started slowly but they’ve turned it around. Since Alex Rodriguez returned, the entire squad has played much better. They should keep going to keep pace with the others. I really like them; they’ve always been my favourite teams in MLB. Just read about them here:
