MLB: Boston 12, New York Mets 5

Boston -- Kevin Youkilis and Mike Lowell each slammed a three-run home run Sunday, powering the Boston Red Sox to a 12-5 win over the New York Mets.

Youkilis and Lowell scored two runs apiece in the interleague game.
Nick Green added two RBI for the Red Sox.

Winner Tim Wakefield (6-2) worked six innings, allowing five runs and seven hits.

Ramon Castro homered and Jeremy Reed, Carlos Beltran, Gary Sheffield and David Wright each drove in a run for the Mets, who have lost five of their last seven games.

Tim Redding (0-1) was the loser. Redding allowed six runs and eight hits in 4 2/3 innings.
