Queen interested in Lambert of 'Idol'

The Los Angeles Times, citing a Rolling Stone magazine interview with May, said Friday the Queen rocker unsuccessfully attempted to speak with Lambert during the season finale of the U.S. TV series this week

"Amongst all that furor, there wasn't really a quiet moment to talk," May said of Wednesday's "Idol" finale, which Lambert lost to fellow contestant Kris Allen. "But (drummer Roger Taylor) and I are definitely hoping to have a meaningful conversation with him at some point."

But May did add his group, known for hits such as "Bohemian Rhapsody" and "Radio Ga Ga," would take its time finding a singer.

"It's not like we, as Queen, would rush into coalescing with another singer just like that. It isn't that easy," said the Queen guitarist, whose group's original lead singer Freddie Mercury died in 1991. "But I'd certainly like to work with Adam. That is one amazing instrument he has there."
