MLB: Seattle 2, San Francisco 1 (12 inn.)

Seattle -- Jose Lopez stroked a bases-loaded single to the wall in left field in the bottom of the 12th inning Friday, lifting Seattle to a 2-1 win over San Francisco.

Lopez, who went 2-for-6, also drove in the Mariners' other run to tie the score in the sixth.

Aaron Rowand homered to start the game to account for the Giants' only run.

Giants starter Randy Johnson was denied his 299th career win. He went 5 1/3 innings, allowing one run on six hits and three walks with seven strikeouts. Justin Miller (1-1) took the loss, giving up one run in two innings.

Seattle starter Jason Vargas allowed the one Giants run on two hits and a walk, with seven strikeouts in seven innings but didn't figure in the decision. The win went to Sean White (1-0), who threw two innings of scoreless relief, as Seattle got its second win in three games.

San Francisco lost its fourth straight and eighth out of its last nine.
