Rivers wins 'Celebrity Apprentice'

New York -- Comedian and TV personality Joan Rivers has been declared the winner of "The Celebrity Apprentice" in New York.

Rivers beat out world champion poker player Annie Duke Sunday night in the business-themed reality show's 3-hour finale.

The finalists' last challenge had them reunite with various "Apprentice" castoffs to organize separate auctions for their favorite charities.

"Apprentice" star and executive producer Donald Trump noted the competition was about more than who raised the most money, it was about how the women played the game.

"Your level of strength, your level of energy have just been amazing," Trump told Rivers, 75. "You really are a role model for so many people... Annie, you're fired. Joan, congratulations."

Rivers, her daughter Melissa, Herschel Walker and Clint Black raised $150,830 for God's Love We Deliver in the final challenge, the New York Daily News said.

Duke, Dennis Rodman, Tom Green and Brande Roderick raised $465,725 for Refugees International.

a total farce. Trump lost

a total farce. Trump lost whatever little respect i had for him with this outrageously biased decision. let's face it, reality tv is what it is - contrived crap. Trump knows how to make this crap riviting but, the audience has a right to expect some basic minimum integrity. Trump made a big mistake here. he may have kept an aging nasty friend but he may have lost his audience. time will tell. he's certainly lost this one.

What a scam

Donald, you truly screwed up this time. What in the world were you thinking? What kind of stuff does the real hitler have on you to be able to blackmail you like this? If you make foolish mistakes like this one, no wonder your companies keep going bankrupt. I will never watch your shows or listen to your advice again.

Joan Rivers

Trump really blew this one! It was very obvious he wanted Joan to be the winner from the start and it was pretty much over 7-8 weeks ago. The way Joan controlled the board room week after week is so telling. Joan owns Trump. I can't believe I watched it all the way through, won't waste my time again. Trump treated Joan with kid gloves all the way. I did not like Annie but the fact is she creamed Joan in everyway, even producing triple the funds raised in the last competition, which is what the show was all about. Fair is fair and Trump was anything but. Annie showed much more class than Joan or Trumo all the way through. Joan was right in one way, everyone knows her real personality now and what the world saw was pathetic and sad.
