Biden soldiers on amid comedic jabs

Washington -- Amid jibes from comedians, U.S. Vice President Joe Biden continues the serious task of overseeing distribution of billions in stimulus money, his office said.

Biden's first months as vice president have been difficult and sobering as the nation faces enormous economic turmoil, Deseret News reported Sunday.

Aside from the stimulus distribution, Biden, 66 is leading a White House task force on the middle class -- a top priority for the administration -- and been giving foreign policy speeches, including the administration's first major address in Germany, his office said.

That said, Biden continues to be the brunt of jokes on "Saturday Night Live," Jay Leno and Craig Ferguson, who have targeted everything from Biden's shiny white teeth to his love of Amtrak. Biden even was linked to the Obama dog on the "Late Show with David Letterman."

"Right now, the dog and Joe Biden are working out who brings in the morning paper," Letterman joked recently.
