The Blackhawks basically settled the issue when Brent Seabrook (power play), Patrick Sharp and Kris Versteeg all scored goals in the first period. Andrew Ladd and Cam Barker scored in the second and the third was scoreless.
Seabrook and Martin Havlat both had two assists before a boisterous and sold out crowd at Chicago's United Center.
It helped matters for Chicago that, once again, the Blackhawks limited high scoring Calgary right wing Jarome Iginla to just one shot.
Dustin Boyd scored Calgary's lone goal at 2:45 of the second.
Miikka Kiprusoff was beaten four times on 18 shots before he was replaced by Curtis McElhinney midway in the second for the Flames -- who face elimination in the Western Conference quarterfinal when the series returns to Calgary Monday for Game 6.
