Daredevil sets sights on Grand Canyon

Geneva, Switzerland -- Daredevil Swiss pilot Yves Rossy says his next flight without a plane will take place in the United States over the Grand Canyon.

Rossy, 49, made international headlines last fall when he became the first person to fly solo across the English Channel using a single jet-propelled wing, Swissinfo.com reported Friday.

"We're developing two prototype wings that I tested two weeks ago," Rossy said. "The idea is to make something smaller, simpler and with higher performance: a smaller delta-shaped foldable wing with a lot more power."

Rossy, who has the nicknames "Fusion Man" and "Jet Man," says he chose the Grand Canyon for his next flight because of its high, vertical cliffs and
scenic beauty.

He said he'd like to do formation flying in the clouds and already has a list of friends who are interested.

"They're a bit scared," he says. "But when they see me they really want to do it."
