Endeavour last flew in November 2008, returning to Edwards Ar Force Base in California from the STS-126 mission. It returned to the Kennedy Space Center last December and had been kept in its giant high-tech garage until Friday when a 76-wheeled transporter move it a quarter-mile to High Bay 1, where it was to be hoisted by a sling into upright position.
