Yanks' Posada has concussion symptoms

New York -- New York Yankees catcher Jorge Posada missed Wednesday's game due to concussion symptoms, Yankees Manager Joe Girardi said.

Girardi told reporters after the Yankees' 3-2 victory over Baltimore that Posada was absent due to "concussion symptoms" from taking a foul ball off the mask during Tuesday night's loss, The (Newark, N.J.) Star-Ledger reported.

"He woke up this morning and didn't sleep well last night," Girardi said. "He had a headache today and we did a test here and he went to see a neurologist.

"Anytime you start talking about concussions -- and we've seen a lot of these last a long time with players -- you're concerned," Girardi added.
