London -- U.S. pop star Whitney Houston performed in the United Kingdom Tuesday night for the first time in 11 years.
The Grammy Award-winning recording artist is making a career comeback after battling an addiction to drugs for years.
Although she was set to return to the European stage last week, a respiratory infection forced the 46-year-old singer to postpone several dates.
Her first gig was Tuesday night at England's Birmingham LG Arena where she told the crowd, "I'm feeling pretty good," the BBC said.

London -- Whitney Houston's upper respiratory infection has forced the U.S. pop star to cancel three upcoming concerts in England and Scotland, RCA said.
The 46-year-old recording artist had previously canceled a gig in Paris, which was to serve as the opening of her European tour.
The BBC said Houston's planned Manchester concerts for Thursday and Friday have been postponed until June 16-17, while Sunday's Glasgow show has been moved to May 1.
"Doctors visited Whitney late last night in Paris and confirmed that she was suffering from an upper respiratory infection," her record label said in a statement Wednesday. "Upon medical advice, Whitney has been advised that she cannot perform to allow her time to recover."

Whitney Houston has returned to the top of the album charts in America, as expected, after debuting I Look To You at number one with 305,000 sales.
The diva scored twice as many sales as second-placed Miley Cyrus, whose The Time Of Our Lives EP was involved in an early release controversy last week (beg31Aug09).
The seven-track CD, exclusive to Wal-Mart stores in America, was put on sale on 28 August (09) - three days before it was scheduled for release. As a result, the release was counted as a debut on last week's (02Sep09) chart, where it debuted at three.
But, taking last week's 62,000 and this week's 153,000 sales, the EP still wouldn't have been able to challenge Houston's comeback - her best-selling debut.
