Some Tasty Dish-brand snack tubs recalled

Washington -- The U.S. Food and Drug Administration announced the recall of some Tasty Dish-brand candy snack tubs from Bed Bath & Beyond retail stores.

The FDA said Nassau Candy Distributors of Hicksville, N.Y., recalled the snack tubs because they might contain undeclared allergens, including various tree nuts, soy and milk, thereby posing a health risk for people with an allergy to any of those allergens.

The Tasty Dish Snack Tubs were distributed to and sold nationwide by Bed Bath & Beyond retail stores.

E.coli-contaminated ground beef recalled

Washington -- The U.S. Food Safety and Inspection Service announced the recall of more than 546,000 pounds of possibly contaminated ground beef products.

The FSIS said Fairbank Farms of Ashville, N.Y., initiated the recall because the ground beef might be contaminated with E.coli bacteria.

FSIS officials said they became aware of the problem while investigating a cluster of E.coli illnesses in Connecticut, Maine and Massachusetts.

The possibly contaminated ground beef products were sold by Trader Joes, Price Chopper, BJ's, Lancaster, Shaw's, Wild Harvest, Ford Brothers and Giant stores and also shipped to establishments in Maryland, Massachusetts, North Carolina, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania and Virginia for further processing.
