Los Angeles -- U.S. television actor Neil Patrick Harris announced via Twitter that he and his partner David Burtka have become fathers to twins -- a boy and a girl.
"All of us are happy, healthy, tired, and a little pukey," the "How I Met Your Mother" star tweeted Friday about the Oct. 12 birth of Gideon Scott and Harper Grace.
Harris announced in August that he and Burtka expected to become parents.
People.com said the children were born with the help of a surrogate.

Albertville, Ala. -- Officials at an Alabama school said one kindergarten class contains five sets of twins -- all boys.
The officials at Big Spring Lake Elementary School in Albertville said the occasion certainly marked the first time this many sets of male twins have been in the same class, WAFF-TV, Huntsvlle, Ala., reported Monday.
Some of the twins are identical while others are fraternal.
"We're different. We don't have the same face," fraternal twins Austin and Jacob Moffatt explained.

Clearwater, Fla. -- A Florida man was sentenced to 179 days in jail for impersonating his identical twin brother at a criminal trial.
Assistant State Attorney Evan Brodsky said Matthew Mauceri, 40, was due in a Pinellas County courtroom at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday and asked his twin, Marcus, to stand in for him when it appeared he was going to be late in flying to Florida from Indiana, the Tampa (Fla.) Tribune reported Wednesday.
Matthew Mauceri was arrested in 2007 and charged with scheme to defraud for allegedly failing to pay for about $160,000 worth of transmission parts from an Ohio firm. He was freed on $100,000 bail.

Cleveland -- An Ohio woman said one of her twins was not ready to be born when the other emerged 12 weeks early and remained in the womb for another week.
Jennifer Renz, 26, of North Canton, Ohio, said her daughter, Grace, was born 12 weeks premature March 22 at 1 pound and 3 ounces, WEWS-TV, Cleveland, reported Thursday.
However, doctors at University Hospitals in Cleveland said the labor stopped when it was the second twin's turn.
"When the first twin delivered, the uterus just stopped," said obstetrician and gynecologist Dr. Michael Gyves said. "Her cervix started to close."

Tampa, Fla. -- Two twin brothers were born in different years thanks to their mother giving birth late New Year's Eve in Tampa, Fla., the boys' father says.
Juan Velasco said his wife Margarita underwent emergency surgery at Tampa General Hospital to deliver the twins with the first, Marcello, being born just before midnight Thursday and brother Stephano being delivered shortly after 12:01 a.m. Friday , the Tampa (Fla.) Tribune reported Saturday.
That meant Stephano was the first baby born at the Tampa hospital in 2010 and his brother was the last birth at the hospital in 2009.
"We never think that we would be the first of the year, or the last of the year, nothing like that," Velasco told the Tribune. "But I'm really happy."

Brockton, Mass. -- Organizers of a Massachusetts party said more than 400 twins, triplets, siblings and parents attended the holiday celebration.
Keeping Pace with Multiple Miracles, which organized Sunday's party at Shaw's Center in Brockton, said dozens of families with twins and triplets came out to pose for pictures with Santa and socialize with families faced with similar situations, the Boston Globe reported Monday.
"No one's going to say, 'Oh, my God. How do you do it?' It's like you're anonymous,'' Donna Baker, co-founder of Keeping Pace with Multiple Miracles and mother of 15-year-old triplets and a 19-year-old, said of the party's comforting atmosphere for parents of multiples.

London -- Twins Sophie and Nicole Down are laying claim to being the first British twins to be born at the same time and weight, hospital authorities say.
They were born June 11 at 4:31 p.m. at 5 pounds, 11 ounces, officials at the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital.
The mother, Samantha Heal, 22, of Wonford, Devon, told The Daily Telegraph officials reported that twins born at the same time and weight was "unheard of" in Britain.
Cesarean twins would normally be born at least two minutes apart but the girls arrived within seconds of each other, so each had the same birth time, the hospital said.
