Vidal Sassoon film to screen at Tribeca

New York -- The documentary "Vidal Sassoon The Movie" is to premiere next month at the Tribeca Film Festival in New York, organizers said.

The film is described as "Michael Gordon and Craig Teper's revealing, inspirational portrait of how one extraordinary man changed the world with a pair of scissors."

It follows Sassoon's path from a London orphanage to international success as a celebrity hairstylist.

"With an emphasis on Sassoon's longstanding commitment to health and his inspirational drive, the film shows him to be not only one of the great innovators of our time, but a cultural life force as relevant today as ever," its producers said in a news release Tuesday.
