Seattle -- First-half goals by Steve Zakuani and Osvaldo Alonso Friday boosted the Seattle Sounders to their fifth straight victory, a 2-1 decision over Chivas USA.
Seattle had already clinched its second straight playoff berth before recording its first-ever home win over Chivas.
The Sounders improved to 14-9-6 with a game remaining.
Chivas, having been eliminated from post-season contention, dropped to 8-16-4. The Chivas goal came from Jesus Padilla in second-half stoppage time.
