COL FB: South Carolina 29, Clemson 7

Clemson, S.C. -- Stephen Garcia rolled up 227 passing yards and fired two touchdowns Saturday in No. 17 South Carolina's 29-7 defeat of Clemson.

Five of his completions went to Alshon Jeffery, who racked up 141 yards and a touchdown for the SEC East champion Gamecocks (9-3), who beat Clemson in consecutive years for the first time since 1969-70.

South Carolina, which won nine games for just the third time in school history, will now prepare to face Auburn in the SEC championship game Dec. 4.

The Tigers (6-6) got only 117 yards passing from Kyle Parker, who was 7-of-17.

COL FB: South Carolina 21, Vanderbilt 7

Nashville -- Brian Maddox rushed for the go-ahead score and Stephen Garcia tossed a pair of TD passes Saturday in No. 20 South Carolina's 21-7 win over Vanderbilt.

Maddox's 2-yard rush up the middle with 4:56 left in the third quarter gave South Carolina a 14-7 lead and Garcia connected with Alshon Jeffery on a 72-yard scoring
strike in the final quarter for an insurance score.

Garcia went 31-of-39 passing for 355 yards and an interception for the Gamecocks (5-2, 3-2 SEC), who logged an SEC road victory for the first time in eight away games.

Maddox gained 146 yards on 24 carries and Jeffery grabbed nine passes for 158 yards. Tori Gurley added 13 receptions for 109 yards and a touchdown for South Carolina.

COL FB: South Carolina 35, Alabama 21

Columbia, S.C. -- Stephen Garcia found Alshon Jeffery on a pair of touchdown passes Saturday and No. 20 South Carolina shocked top-ranked Alabama 35-21.

Garcia fired three first-half TDs and went a perfect 9-of-9 through the first 30 minutes to forge a 21-9 halftime lead. The Gamecocks (4-1, 2-1 SEC) went on from there to post their first-ever win over a No. 1 team.

Jeffery hauled down seven passes for 127 yards. He made a sensational one-handed grab for 45 yards in the fourth quarter to set up a game-icing South Carolina score.
Garcia finished the day 17-of-20 for 201 yards through the air while Marcus Lattimore rushed for 93 yards and two touchdowns in the Gamecocks' upset win.

COL FB: South Carolina 38, Furman 19

Columbia, S.C. -- Stephen Garcia tossed a pair of touchdown passes Saturday and 16th-ranked South Carolina rolled over Furman 38-19.

Garcia racked up 150 yards, going 13-for-20 through the air for the Gamecocks (3-0).

Marcus Lattimore rushed 19 times for 97 yards and a touchdown and Brian Maddox ran for a TD for South Carolina, which piled up 12 rushing first downs to only two for Furman.

The Paladins (1-1) got 189 yards passing from Cody Worley, who was 17-for-29 with two interceptions. Ten of his passes were caught by Adam Mims, who gained 202 yards and scored a touchdown.

COL FB: South Carolina 34, Clemson 17

Columbia, S.C. -- Stephen Garcia's three touchdown passes and a dominant defense Saturday led South Carolina to a 34-17 win over arch-rival and 16th-ranked Clemson.

Garcia, playing his final home game, completed 10-of-21 passes for 126 yards with scoring passes in the first, third and fourth quarters.

Kenny Miles gained 114 yards on 17 carries.

Spencer Lanning kicked two field goals.

Brian Maddox ran for a touchdown, and the defense held the Tigers to 260 total yards -- 48 rushing -- for the Gamecocks (7-5), who ended their three-game losing streak.

Clemson's C.J. Spiller scored when he returned the opening kickoff 88 yards.

But Spiller managed just 18 yards on nine carries.

COL FB: South Carolina 16, Mississippi 10

Columbia, S.C., Sept. 24: Stephen Garcia's scoring pass gave South Carolina a 13-point lead in the third quarter Thursday and the Gamecocks held on to shock No. 5 Mississippi 16-10.

South Carolina defeated a team ranked in the Top 5 for only the second time in school history and ended Mississippi's hopes of starting a season 3-0 for the first time in 20 years.

The Gamecocks improved to 3-1 for the year and to 1-1 in Southeastern Conference action. Mississippi had opened its season with wins over Memphis and Southeastern Louisiana and was playing its first conference game.
