Strip club injury suit settled: $650,000

West Palm Beach, Fla. -- A Florida man whose eye was injured by a stripper's shoe at a nightclub was awarded a $650,000 settlement but his lawyer said he expects more litigation.

Lake "Trey" Lytal said the insurance company for the Cheetah nightclub in West Palm Beach, Fla., has agreed to pay the amount but he expects more litigation before his client, Michael Ireland, receives the payment, The Palm Beach (Fla.) Post reported Friday.

"When this case was first filed, many people criticized it simply because it occurred at a strip club," Lytal said. "But we feel the $650,000 settlement goes to show that this was a serious case with serious injuries."

DEWALT framing nailers recalled

Washinton -- The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced a voluntary recall of DEWALT framing nailers due to risk of serious injuries.

The DEWALT D51825 and D51850 Framing Nailers could eject fasteners unexpectedly, resulting in serious injury, the commission said in a statement.

About 9,000 of the framing nailers were imported from Mexico by DEWALT
Industrial Tool Co. of Towson, Md, and sold nationwide from January 2008 through September 2008 for about $280.

No injuries were reported, but consumers were advised to stop using the recalled nailers and contact DEWALT for instructions on a free replacement for a faulty bump action trigger.
