London -- Sisters Serena and Venus Williams seem on a relentless course toward a rematch in the finals of the women's draw of the Wimbledon Championships in London.
There are two matches between the Williamses and a Saturday appointment for the Grand Slam event title. Those come Thursday in the semifinals where Venus Williams, seeded third and the event's two-time defending champion, goes against world No. 1 Dinara Safina. Serena Williams, the No. 2 seed and looking for a third title in the last four Grand Slam events, plays No. 4 Elena Dementieva.
Of the four semifinalists only Safina has dropped a set in their first five Wimbledon matches. And, while struggling, Safina has shown a grit that has kept her hopes of a first Grand Slam title alive.

London -- Serena and Venus Williams were placed in opposite sides of the women's Wimbledon bracket Friday, meaning they could meet in the tournament finals.
The Williams sisters have won seven of the last nine Wimbledon titles. The all-time series between the two is tied at 10-10, but Serena owns a 5-2 edge when those meetings are in Grand Slam finals. However, Venus defeated her sister in last year's Wimbledon final.
Serena is ranked No. 2 in the world and Venus No. 3, so a true seeding would have them meet in the semifinals. But Wimbledon officials put Venus in the top half of the draw, setting up a possible semifinal match between her and world No. 1 Dinara Safina.
