COL BKB: Ohio State 93, Florida 75

Gainesville, Fla. -- Jared Sullinger pumped in 26 points Tuesday, sparking No. 5 Ohio State to a 93-75 win over No. 10 Florida in a key early-season game.

Sullinger, hailed as one of the best incoming first-year players in college basketball, lived up to the hype Tuesday, making several slam-dunks in his 10-of-17 shooting performance and collecting 10 rebounds for the Buckeyes (2-0).

David Lighty scored 26 points, William Buford added 16 and Jon Diebler scored 14 for Ohio State, which shot a sizzling 62.9 percent from the field.

Kenny Boynton racked up five 3-pointers en route to a 21-point game for Florida (1-1).

Erving Walker added 15 points and Chandler Parsons contributed 13 in the Gators' defeat.

Giants' Manning tested after blow to head

Albany, N.Y. -- New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning underwent a series of neurological tests Tuesday, a day after sustaining a blow to the head during a pre-season game.

Manning required 12 stitches to close a gash on his forehead, inflicted during Monday night's victory over the New York Jets. Giants Coach Tom Coughlin said Manning underwent a "battery of tests" Tuesday at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York, reported.

"The nature of the exact tests was not communicated to me," Coughlin said. "They're not going to leave any stone unturned so they are going to go ahead and do all of the tests, the MRIs, and all of those things and then at that point in time I'm sure they'll get a hold of me."
